Pakistan has strongly dismissed a recent report published by US-based media outlet CBS News regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi. The Foreign Office described the report as “misleading and sensationalised,” saying that the claims were based on speculation rather than facts.

According to the official statement, the aircraft arrived in Pakistan during the ongoing ceasefire period and were linked to diplomatic activities connected with the Islamabad peace talks. The Foreign Office clarified that the planes had no connection with any military operation or emergency arrangement.

Officials explained that after the first round of the Islamabad Talks, aircraft from both Iran and the United States were used to transport diplomatic officials, administrative teams, and security staff involved in the discussions. Some aircraft and support personnel remained in Pakistan temporarily while preparations for further diplomatic engagements continued.

The statement also mentioned that although formal negotiations have not resumed yet, senior diplomatic contacts are still ongoing. In this context, recent visits by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad were managed through the same logistical arrangements already in place.

Pakistan stressed that the aircraft currently parked at the airbase were part of routine diplomatic coordination during the ceasefire and should not be connected to any military contingency. The Foreign Office said that claims suggesting otherwise were completely inaccurate and detached from reality.

The government further highlighted Pakistan’s role as a neutral and responsible facilitator committed to supporting peace efforts in the region. Authorities said the country has consistently encouraged dialogue, de-escalation, and diplomatic engagement between involved parties.

In its concluding remarks, the Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to promoting regional stability, peace, and security through constructive diplomacy and transparent communication with all relevant stakeholders.
