Six members of a family were burnt to death in a tragic Ormara car crash on Wednesday after a speeding gas bowser collided head-on with their car on the Coastal Highway in Gwadar district.

According to highway police, the accident occurred in the 2-B area of Ormara. The gas bowser reportedly hit the family’s car at high speed before overturning. The collision caused the car to catch fire, trapping all six people inside.

SSP Highway Police Muhammad Aslam Bangulzai said that all six occupants, including the driver, died at the scene. The victims reportedly had no opportunity to escape after the vehicle caught fire following the powerful collision.

The deceased included two men, two women and two children. The family was travelling from Karachi to Turbat when the fatal accident occurred.

After receiving information about the crash, highway and local police teams immediately reached the scene. The bodies were recovered and transported to Ormara district hospital for further proceedings.

Police later identified the victims as Inspector Ataullah, an official of the Fisheries Department, and his family members. Ataullah originally belonged to Buleda and was living in Overseas Colony, Turbat. The driver of the car was identified as Aslam.

The serious accident also caused major disruption on the Coastal Highway. Traffic remained suspended for several hours while authorities dealt with the wreckage and completed the initial rescue and recovery operation. Highway police later restored traffic on the important route.

In a separate incident, two motorcyclists were killed when a speeding trailer struck their motorcycle on the Quetta-Karachi Highway near Winder. Their bodies were taken to a nearby hospital and later handed over to their families.

The incidents have once again raised concerns about speeding and road safety on major highways in Balochistan.
