Netanyahu Successfully Treated for Prostate Cancer
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he underwent successful treatment for early-stage prostate cancer. The 76-year-old leader, in a statement released alongside his annual medical report, disclosed that the cancer was detected during a routine checkup. Netanyahu emphasized that targeted radiation therapy had successfully removed the malignant tumor, leaving no trace behind.
Although Netanyahu did not specify when the treatment took place, his medical report stated that he was in good overall health. The report confirmed that he had undergone radiation therapy for the early-stage prostate cancer, which had been detected at an early stage.
The prime minister also shared that he delayed the release of his medical report for two months in order to prevent Iran from spreading false propaganda about his health. This decision came amid a backdrop of rumors and unfounded claims circulating on social media, particularly during March’s conflict with Iran, that Netanyahu had passed away. To counter these rumors, Netanyahu recorded a video showing himself visiting a café in Jerusalem, refuting the claims.
This health disclosure follows Netanyahu’s earlier medical history, including surgery on his prostate in 2024 to treat a benign prostate enlargement and the fitting of a pacemaker in 2023. With Israeli elections scheduled for October, Netanyahu’s health has been closely monitored.
