Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled a historic Rs 100 billion rehabilitation package to support flood-affected families across the province. The Flood Victims Rehabilitation Programme aims to help residents rebuild their homes and livelihoods after devastating floods destroyed property, crops, and local infrastructure.

Under this program, families will receive direct cash grants to meet essential needs such as food, medical care, and clothing. To make relief more accessible, the government has also introduced free transport services for families traveling to designated relief centers, ensuring that even those in remote or heavily impacted regions can access help.

During the announcement, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, assuring that every rupee will be used for victims’ welfare. Independent audits will monitor all disbursements, and a dedicated helpline has been launched for public feedback or complaints.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Punjab’s self-reliance, noting that all rescue and relief operations were conducted without foreign aid. Local agencies, NGOs, and volunteers are working together to distribute food, provide shelter, and deliver healthcare in the hardest-hit areas.

This Rs 100 billion initiative reflects the government’s commitment to solidarity and swift recovery, aiming to restore stability and hope for thousands of families struggling to rebuild after the floods.
