Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States has stated that Marka-e-Haq significantly improved Pakistan’s image on the global stage and showcased the country’s political, diplomatic, and military strength during the recent conflict with India. Speaking in Washington, the envoy said Pakistan emerged from the tensions as a more credible and responsible regional power committed to peace and stability.
The 19-day conflict between Pakistan and India, which lasted from April 22 to May 10, 2025, began after India accused Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam incident without presenting evidence. According to the ambassador, Pakistan immediately demanded an impartial investigation, while India chose aggression instead of diplomacy. He stressed that Pakistan responded with unity, discipline, and strategic maturity during the crisis.
The envoy highlighted that despite limited defence spending compared to India, Pakistan’s greatest strength remained its national resolve and unity. He added that the weaknesses in India’s narrative became increasingly visible before the international community during the conflict.
Speaking about international diplomacy, the ambassador appreciated the role played by US President Donald Trump and his administration in helping maintain peace and supporting ceasefire efforts between the two nuclear nations. He also reiterated Pakistan’s demand for evidence regarding both the Pulwama and Pahalgam incidents.
On the issue of the Indus Waters Treaty, the envoy warned that suspending the agreement would violate international law. He stated that using water as a political weapon could create dangerous consequences for regional peace and stability.
During a special ceremony held at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, the ambassador praised the unity shown by the Pakistani nation, armed forces, and leadership throughout the conflict. He also emphasised the importance of economic stability, saying Pakistan’s future strength depended equally on defence capabilities and economic growth.
The ceremony concluded with patriotic performances, national songs, and renewed commitments toward building a stronger, united, and prosperous Pakistan.
