Pakistan’s security forces carried out successful intelligence based operations in multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 23 militants, including a key commander linked to terrorist activities. According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted over the past 48 hours in Datta Khel, Spinwam, and Bannu as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
The military said the operations specifically targeted militants belonging to Fitna al Khawarij, a group involved in attacks on security personnel and civilians. During the heavy exchange of fire, troops eliminated several militants, including the wanted ring leader Jan Meer alias Toor Saqib. Officials described him as a dangerous militant commander with deep involvement in terrorist attacks across the region.
According to the ISPR, Jan Meer carried a government-announced bounty due to his role in planning and executing attacks against both civilians and security forces. His death is being seen as a major setback for militant networks operating in the province.
Security forces also discovered and destroyed a network of underground tunnels and bunkers used by terrorists to hide and plan attacks. During the sanitisation process, troops recovered a large cache of weapons, explosives, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the militants’ hideouts.
The military further stated that operations are still ongoing in affected areas to ensure that no militant remains hidden. Authorities reaffirmed that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under Azm e Istehkam will continue with full force to eliminate foreign sponsored terrorism from the country.
The latest operations highlight the continued efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces to maintain peace and stability in sensitive regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security officials have reiterated their commitment to protecting citizens and dismantling militant infrastructure through coordinated intelligence driven actions.
