Security forces have successfully eliminated 12 India-backed terrorists during a precise intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the action on Friday and shared key details of the mission.
According to the military media wing, the operation took place on 2 September after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan. Forces carefully identified and monitored the hideout before launching a swift surgical strike. All 12 India-sponsored terrorists were killed in the action. A large stock of ammunition and several improvised explosive devices were also destroyed at the site.
The ISPR stated that sanitisation operations are still underway in the area to clear any remaining threat. The military made it clear that the fight against foreign-sponsored terrorism will continue with full force until the menace is completely wiped out from the country.
In a separate incident, Balochistan police successfully foiled a major terror attack in Bhag city. Around 40 militants launched a coordinated assault on the Bhag police station, a local bank and the assistant commissioner’s office. They used heavy weapons, rockets and hand grenades. Two policemen and three civilians suffered injuries during the firing. However, the terrorists failed to seize control of the police station or loot any cash from the bank.
Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister, Shahid Rind, praised the quick response of the police. He also confirmed that the Bomb Disposal Unit safely defused an IED planted inside the bank by the attackers.
Pakistan has faced a rise in militant activity, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021. A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies showed that these two provinces accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related deaths in the second quarter of 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest number of incidents and fatalities, while Balochistan followed closely.
The successful Kalat operation and the police action in Bhag once again highlight the determination of security forces to protect citizens and eliminate terrorist networks across the region.
