The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) of Pakistan has strongly condemned India’s recent propaganda campaign that links Pakistan to the 2025 Pahalgam incident. This comes after India made baseless accusations, attempting to draw Pakistan into the tragic event. According to Islamabad, New Delhi’s claims aim to divert attention from the ongoing Kashmir issue and destabilize regional peace efforts in the Middle East.

The FO expressed its deep concerns over India’s allegations, labeling them as a political strategy to gain domestic leverage at the expense of regional stability. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Pakistan is actively working with its international partners to foster peace and security. Yet, India continues to use inflammatory rhetoric to escalate tensions between the two nations, a move that could undermine global diplomatic efforts.

The controversy began after the Indian Army released a statement on the anniversary of the Pahalgam incident, where 26 lives were lost. New Delhi accused Pakistan of orchestrating the attack, despite lacking concrete evidence to support such claims. In response, Pakistan denied any involvement and called for an independent investigation.

Furthermore, India’s unprovoked missile strikes inside Pakistan led to civilian casualties, with Pakistan retaliating by downing Indian fighter jets and destroying military assets. The conflict ended with a ceasefire brokered by the United States on May 10, 2025.

The FO also criticized India’s attempts to shift focus from its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, urging the international community to pressure India to act responsibly. Pakistan condemned India’s continued use of hostile rhetoric and its violation of international laws, particularly concerning the Indus Waters Treaty.

Pakistan has made it clear that such provocative actions will not derail the global efforts for peace and that the international community must hold India accountable for its destabilizing activities in the region.
