In a major move to facilitate the British Pakistani diaspora, the Pakistan High Commission in London has officially awarded a contract to Gerry’s Visa Services Ltd. This partnership aims to provide additional consular facilitation services across the United Kingdom, ensuring that the two million-strong community has easier access to essential documentation.

The decision was approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad following a transparent competitive bidding process. According to official statements, the selection adhered strictly to PPRA regulations, involving rigorous due diligence over a four-month period. This new arrangement is designed to help Pakistani nationals residing in far-flung areas who previously struggled with the high costs and long travel times associated with visiting the High Commission in London or its four main consulates.

Under this agreement, Gerry’s International will handle data entry and processing for passport applications, visas, and NICOP services. Crucially, they will also offer weekend slots to provide maximum flexibility for working professionals. While these centers will streamline the initial stages of documentation, the High Commission clarified that all decision-making power remains exclusively with the Government of Pakistan and authorities like NADRA and IMPASS.

High Commissioner Dr Muhammad Faisal emphasized that this deal is about putting overseas Pakistanis first. By establishing authorized service centers, the mission intends to eliminate unauthorized and fraudulent agents that have previously exploited citizens. The first of these facilitation centers is set to be inaugurated in May 2026, with a phased rollout planned for all major UK regions. Afzal Wali Muhammad, Chairman of Gerry’s, has pledged to maintain world-class and secure standards for the community. Meanwhile, regular services will continue as usual at the official missions in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford, and Glasgow, ensuring a seamless transition for all applicants.
