The death toll from the tragic accident in Sargodha has now risen to 14, as more victims succumbed to their injuries. According to Rescue officials, the crash occurred when a truck carrying 23 people lost control in thick fog that severely reduced visibility on the roads. This devastating incident took place in the Kot Momin area of Sargodha, where the vehicle plunged into the Ghala Pur Bangla canal, which was dry at the time.

The truck was carrying passengers, including six children and five women, who were on their way to a funeral. Tragically, seven people were crushed under the truck and died instantly. The remaining victims were pulled from the wreckage and transported to the nearby THQ hospital, where seven more people passed away while receiving treatment.

This accident highlights the dangers of driving in winter mornings and nights, particularly in regions affected by thick fog. The dense fog makes visibility almost impossible, and officials have urged drivers to slow down and exercise extra caution.

In addition to the Sargodha crash, separate fog-related accidents have also claimed lives in other areas of Punjab. In Lahore, a man was killed and two others were critically injured after their motorcycle collided with a stationary tractor-trolley. Similarly, in Dera Ismail Khan, a tragic collision between a sugar-laden trailer and a passenger van claimed two lives and left 14 others injured. These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the severe risks posed by foggy weather conditions on the roads.
