Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has unveiled a new and exciting reward structure for PSL 2026, creating fresh energy among all participating franchises. Naqvi shared the update on his official X account, highlighting that teams will now receive special rewards for their overall contribution to the league’s growth and development.
According to the announcement, the champion franchise of PSL 2026 will secure a generous 500,000 dollars, while the runner up will earn 300,000 dollars. A separate reward of 200,000 dollars has also been allocated for the franchise that shows exceptional commitment to cricket development, reflecting the PCB’s efforts to strengthen domestic cricket. Naqvi added that these financial incentives are in addition to the league’s regular prize money, aiming to encourage stronger performance and long term investment in talent.
Earlier, the PCB also confirmed that the auction for two new PSL teams will take place on January 6, 2026, marking a major step in the league’s expansion. The board rejected circulating media claims that team names had already been finalised, clarifying that the names will only be chosen after the auction, following the rules mentioned in the Bid Documents.
Six cities have been shortlisted for the new franchises, including Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit. Only technically qualified bidders will take part in the auction, and successful bidders will earn the right to select their preferred city from the shortlisted list.
