The Pakistan Super League is gearing up for a significant expansion as the PCB plans to increase the tournament to eight teams starting from PSL 11. According to insiders, Faisalabad and Gilgit have emerged as the top contenders from a shortlist that also included Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Rawalpindi.

Sources say the ongoing standoff between PCB and Multan Sultans remains unresolved, as the 2021 champions have still not received their renewal offer letter outlining the revised franchise fee for the next 10-year cycle. Meanwhile, renewal letters have already been issued to Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators after the PCB completed the independent valuation process of league assets.

To maintain transparency, PCB has arranged joint and individual meetings between franchise representatives and the independent valuer to address any queries regarding the valuation methodology. Franchises have been asked to submit their responses within the set deadline.

In addition to this, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi officially launched the sale process for two new PSL teams, inviting interested parties to submit bids. The deadline for technical proposals is December 15, 2025, after which qualifying bidders will move to the next stage.

Naqvi shared the announcement on X, stating that PSL is ready to become “bigger and better” as two new franchises prepare to join the league. With bidding underway and expansion plans rolling forward, fans eagerly await confirmation of which cities will officially become PSL’s latest additions.
