Murree is gearing up for the busy winter season with a detailed plan designed to keep tourists safe, comfortable, and well-informed. Every year, thousands of visitors arrive between December 15 and February 25, a period known for heavy snowfall and increased travel activity. To avoid past issues such as traffic jams, accidents, and crowd pressure, authorities have introduced a strengthened winter safety plan.

A fleet of 20 snow-clearing vehicles has been assigned to ensure that main routes remain open throughout the season. Alongside this, 19 facilitation centres will operate across the region, offering guidance, support, and emergency help to tourists. A dedicated military team will remain on duty round the clock, working closely with NDMA, Rescue 1122, police, and Civil Defence staff to monitor conditions and respond quickly to any emergencies.

To maintain smooth traffic flow, parking on major roads has been banned, and entry of vehicles will be carefully regulated. Local hotels have also been instructed to follow fixed rates for rooms, food, and recreational services so visitors are not overcharged during peak days.

Tourists are advised to carry warm clothing, snow chains, blankets, and essential supplies to stay prepared for potential delays or severe weather conditions. Officials say these measures aim to reduce risks and ensure that everyone can enjoy Murree’s snowy scenery in a safe and organized environment.
