A ceremonial changing of the guard took place at Allama Iqbal’s Mausoleum in Lahore, where the Pakistan Navy officially assumed honorary guard duties from the Punjab Rangers. The dignified event marked Iqbal Day celebrations, paying tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national poet, philosopher, and visionary leader who inspired the creation of Pakistan.

The ceremony began with a formal parade as the Pakistan Navy contingent took over the prestigious responsibility of guarding the mausoleum. Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Commander Central Punjab, attended the ceremony as the chief guest, where he inspected the parade and reviewed both contingents during the official handover.

After completing their ceremonial term, the Punjab Rangers were formally relieved, and the Navy personnel stepped in with immaculate discipline and precision. The ceremony concluded with a salute at Iqbal’s tomb, followed by special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
