A massive discovery has recently been reported in Pakistan, where gold reserves worth $636 billion have allegedly been found in Tarbela, as announced by Hanif Gohar, Chairman of Air Karachi. If verified, this could become one of the largest mineral discoveries in the nation’s history.

According to Gohar, the discovery has been formally reported to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for review and official confirmation. He further revealed that Australian and Canadian drilling companies have already been contacted for exploration and feasibility studies.

Once the government approval is granted, the extraction phase will begin — a process expected to take several years. Experts suggest that the economic impact of these reserves could help reduce Pakistan’s foreign debt and strengthen its financial stability.

Alongside this major revelation, Air Karachi is also gearing up to launch domestic flight operations on March 23, 2026, starting with a fleet of 3–5 Airbus aircraft. The airline plans to expand internationally after completing one year of successful local operations.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad is seeing the development of its first-ever four-star hotel, reflecting the rising investment and growth in Pakistan’s tourism and aviation sectors.

If confirmed, the Tarbela gold reserves could become a turning point for Pakistan’s economy, unlocking new opportunities in mining, employment, and infrastructure development.
