Pakistan has strongly rejected the Afghan Taliban regime’s version of the recent border clash at Angoor Adda in South Waziristan. The Information Ministry called the Taliban claims completely fabricated and said the truth is very different.
According to the official statement, Afghan Taliban forces started the trouble. They opened unprovoked firing and mortar shelling that hit civilian areas on the Pakistani side. One innocent civilian was martyred and five members of the same family were injured when a mortar shell landed near them.
Pakistani security forces responded at once. They carried out an immediate, effective and strong counter-action that silenced the enemy guns. In the operation, troops destroyed seven Afghan Taliban posts and caused heavy casualties and material losses on the other side.
The ministry also pointed out that this kind of attack is not new. It fits a clear pattern where the Taliban regime appears to act under the influence of its proxy masters in India. Islamabad has repeatedly accused Kabul of allowing its territory to be used for such provocations.
This latest incident is part of ongoing tension along the Angoor Adda border. Similar mortar attacks happened in late April this year, injuring civilians and damaging homes. Earlier in February, Pakistan had to launch Operation Ghazab lil-Haq after repeated hostilities.
Pakistan has consistently asked the Afghan Taliban authorities to stop militant groups from using Afghan soil to attack Pakistani territory. The Taliban side continues to deny any such involvement, yet the pattern of unprovoked firing and false statements keeps repeating.
The Information Ministry ended its fact-check with a clear message: truth always prevails over falsehood. By destroying the posts and stopping the shelling, Pakistani forces showed that any attack on civilians will be met with a firm and decisive reply. The government remains committed to protecting its people and border areas while exposing the real story behind these recurring incidents.
