The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the action took place on August 10 as part of the ongoing national counterterrorism drive.
According to the military media wing, the operation targeted Indian-sponsored proxies with the clear goal of restoring lasting peace in the region. After the engagement, troops recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices. All recovered items were safely destroyed on the spot.
Sanitisation efforts followed immediately to clear any remaining threats in the area. The ISPR stressed that the broader campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Just two days earlier, forces had eliminated fifteen India-backed terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij in a series of similar intelligence-based operations. Those actions covered multiple districts of Balochistan including Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai and Nushki under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3.
Pakistan has faced a noticeable rise in terror incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021. A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies showed that these two provinces together accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related deaths in the second quarter of 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest share with 475 fatalities, while Balochistan reported 265. The same report noted 151 violent incidents in KP and 94 in Balochistan, confirming the concentration of militant activity in these regions.
The latest success in Panjgur demonstrates the steady pressure being applied on terrorist networks. Forces continue to act on precise intelligence to disrupt planning and logistics. Officials say the combination of targeted operations and follow-up sanitisation is steadily reducing the operational space available to these groups.
Local communities in the affected districts have repeatedly called for sustained security measures so that normal life and economic activity can resume without fear. The military leadership has reiterated that the fight against terrorism remains a top national priority and will not slow down until the threat is fully neutralised.
