According to the findings, deliberate attempts were made to conceal the victim’s identity. No fingerprints were present on his hands. Tests further detected elements of gunshot residue on the shirt. Both the chemical examination and DNA reports connected to the case are now available with investigators.
The online cab driver who picked up Mir Raza that night shared a detailed account. The booking was accepted at 3:57 am. At 4:07 am the driver called to say he had reached the location. The ride began at 4:09 am. Mir Raza seemed calm and happy, played music of his choice, and told the driver to ignore the app destination and follow the route he would give. He was dropped near a slight uphill slope in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
Lawyer Jibran Nasir, speaking alongside the family, stated that CCTV footage of Mir Raza emerged on July 28 and the body was recovered the following day. He confirmed a gunshot mark on the back of the shirt and traces of acid. Nasir explained that the face had been damaged by acid burns rather than normal decomposition. With the body estimated between 20 and 22 hours old, Mir Raza may have remained in captivity for up to 12 hours before death.
Nasir added that the smartwatch was taken from the family on the third day of the funeral rites. The mobile phone was sent to the Counter Terrorism Department. He claimed the killers appeared to know areas without cameras and that the phone may have been compromised. The family had informed police about bottles of acid found near the Water Board office and repeatedly asked for their statements to be recorded.

He expressed confidence in the new probe team and confirmed that information about three suspicious individuals had already been shared. Earlier gaps in the probe included the failure to conduct geofencing at the crime scene, obtain mobile data records, or examine the smartwatch forensically. The new team has begun correcting these shortcomings, collected details of a suspected guesthouse, and is preparing a formal request to the NCCIA to check whether Mir Raza faced any threats before his death.
