Pakistan’s leading cricketers have received a welcome boost in the latest ICC ODI Rankings, with Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Salman Ali Agha all moving up after impressive recent performances. The updated rankings highlight the consistent progress of several Pakistan players as they continue to strengthen their positions on the international stage.
Former captain Babar Azam climbed one place to sixth in the ODI batting rankings with 689 rating points. His consistent performances continue to make him one of the world’s most reliable batters. Pakistan’s white ball captain Salman Ali Agha also enjoyed a notable rise, moving from 18th to 16th with 630 points, reflecting his growing influence in the middle order.
Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan maintained his 31st position with 560 points, while opening batter Fakhar Zaman slipped one place to 37th with 544 points. Young opener Saim Ayub remained unchanged at 44th, showing steady progress among the world’s top ODI batters.
In the bowling rankings, Shaheen Shah Afridi continued his upward momentum by climbing two places to seventh with 604 rating points. Fast bowler Haris Rauf also improved significantly, rising to 20th, while Mohammad Wasim Jr gained one position to reach 70th. However, Naseem Shah dropped to 49th, and spinner Mohammad Nawaz retained his 80th place.
Globally, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell remained the number one ODI batter with 802 rating points, followed by India captain Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continued to lead the chart, while Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed held on to the second spot. England’s Jofra Archer climbed into third place after replacing Keshav Maharaj.
The latest rankings reflect Pakistan’s improving performances and provide further encouragement as the team prepares for upcoming international ODI assignments. Continued consistency from key players could help Pakistan strengthen its position among the world’s leading cricket nations.
