Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the rapidly worsening Middle East tensions and has urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent the situation from deteriorating further. The Foreign Office (FO) emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective ways to restore peace and stability across the region.

The latest escalation follows an exchange of missile and drone attacks between the United States and Iran. According to reports, Iran launched strikes targeting US facilities in several Gulf states and announced that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until what it described as the end of US interference. The renewed conflict has raised fresh concerns about regional security and the future of diplomatic efforts.

Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all friendly countries in the region. The Foreign Office called on every side involved in the conflict to take immediate de escalation measures and honor the commitments made under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Officials stressed that respecting previously agreed commitments is essential for reducing tensions and preventing further conflict.

The statement also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to supporting every effort aimed at achieving lasting peace through constructive dialogue and diplomatic engagement. According to the Foreign Office, peaceful negotiations remain the most practical solution to resolve ongoing disputes.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held discussions with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi regarding the evolving regional situation. During the conversation, Dar reiterated that diplomacy is the only sustainable path toward resolving differences and maintaining long term regional stability. He encouraged all concerned parties to avoid further escalation and continue implementing the understandings reached under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as developments continue. Pakistan’s latest diplomatic stance reflects its commitment to promoting regional peace, encouraging responsible diplomacy, and supporting efforts that can help prevent further instability in the Middle East.
