A new First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in Lahore following the vehicle crash that played a key role in rescuing two foreign women who were allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The latest case is separate from the main criminal investigation and focuses solely on the road accident that occurred near Bhatta Chowk.
According to the police, the FIR was filed after Usman, the owner and driver of a vehicle damaged in the collision, approached authorities with his complaint. He stated that he was travelling from a private housing society towards Bhatta Chowk when another vehicle struck his car on Airport Road. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident.
Usman also told police that he repeatedly contacted the emergency helpline 15 before officers arrived. The FIR states that the collision caused an estimated Rs300,000 in damage to his vehicle.
Police officials said the emergency call helped officers reach the location quickly. During the investigation, it was revealed that the two foreign women escaped from the suspects’ vehicle immediately after the crash. They ran into a nearby shop seeking safety until police reached the scene and rescued them.
Authorities clarified that this newly registered FIR only relates to the traffic accident and does not replace the original case involving the alleged kidnapping, extortion, and sexual assault of the two foreign nationals, one from Spain and the other from the Netherlands.
Earlier, Lahore DIG Operations Faisal Kamran confirmed that the women had arrived in Lahore on June 29 before they were allegedly abducted. He also reiterated that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed investigators to handle the case strictly on merit. Police traced the suspects using Safe City cameras, mobile phone records, and vehicle tracking data before arresting four suspects on July 2.
Officials confirmed that the victims’ statements have been recorded before a magistrate, medical examinations have been completed, and the women have since left Pakistan. Meanwhile, the investigation into the primary criminal case continues.
