Pakistan’s security forces carried out a series of successful intelligence based operations (IBOs) across multiple districts of Balochistan, resulting in the elimination of 17 terrorists, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations were conducted in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Ketch following heightened security concerns after the railway track explosion near Quetta on May 24. Acting on intelligence reports, security personnel launched coordinated operations targeting suspected militant hideouts and terrorist networks operating in these regions.

According to the military’s media wing, troops engaged several terrorist locations during the operations. After intense exchanges of fire, 17 militants were killed. The ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were linked to India backed militant networks and were involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces and civilians in the province.

Security forces also recovered a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the militants. Officials said these recoveries prevented potential future attacks and dealt a major blow to terrorist infrastructure in the region.

The operations come shortly after the deadly Quetta railway track blast, which claimed the lives of at least 14 people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, and left several others injured. Women and children were also among the victims of the attack, highlighting the devastating impact of terrorism on innocent civilians.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist incidents, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over recent years. Security forces have continued conducting intelligence based operations to dismantle militant networks and improve the overall security situation.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the country. The latest operations demonstrate the ongoing efforts of Pakistan’s security institutions to counter terrorism, protect civilians, and disrupt militant activities before they can threaten public safety.
