President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to Pakistan after completing a private visit to the United Kingdom. The Presidency confirmed the news on Thursday through an official statement.

President Zardari left for Britain on 27 August. This marked his first trip to the country in nearly six years. He spent more than a week in London before heading back home.

Before departing for the airport, the President spoke briefly to Geo News. When asked about his health, he replied that by the grace of Allah he was well. He also described his stay in London as pleasant and said he had a good time there.

However, President Zardari chose not to comment on Pakistan’s current political situation or the ongoing discussion about creating new provinces and administrative units.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, saw the President off at the airport. Dr Asim Hussain, the President’s personal physician, accompanied him on the return journey.

Sources close to the Presidency revealed that President Zardari underwent several medical check-ups during his stay in Britain. He kept the visit completely private and did not take part in any political activity or formal meetings while in London.

During his time in the British capital, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari visited their father regularly. The President met both his son and daughter on a daily basis throughout the visit.

The private trip focused mainly on rest and medical consultations. No official engagements were scheduled, allowing the President to spend quiet time with family while attending to his health.

With the visit now concluded, President Zardari is back in Pakistan. The Presidency has not released further details about any future schedule, but officials confirmed that he returned safely and in good spirits after his stay abroad.
