President Asif Ali Zardari has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a four day official visit, marking an important step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries. Upon his arrival at Issyk Kul International Airport, President Zardari was warmly welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and was presented with a guard of honour, highlighting the significance of the visit.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, this is the first visit by a Pakistani president to the Kyrgyz Republic in 21 years, making it a historic milestone in bilateral relations. President Zardari is leading a high level delegation at the invitation of President Japarov, reflecting the growing cooperation between the two friendly nations.

During the visit, President Zardari will hold both one on one and delegation level meetings with President Japarov. The leaders are expected to review the full scope of Pakistan Kyrgyzstan relations while discussing important regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The talks will focus on expanding cooperation in several key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, and tourism. Both countries are also expected to explore new opportunities to strengthen people to people exchanges and improve economic connectivity across Central and South Asia.

President Zardari is also scheduled to meet the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament during his visit. The meeting is expected to further enhance parliamentary cooperation and reinforce diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

The visit follows the successful trip of President Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan in December 2025, demonstrating the continued momentum in high level exchanges. Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan share strong historical, cultural and religious ties, and both governments remain committed to promoting peace, regional connectivity, and shared economic prosperity through closer collaboration.
