Punjab Flood Relief: Tent Cities for Victims

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was briefed on relief operations for flood-affected residents in Jhang district, with a focus on Athara Hazari tehsil. Authorities reported that tent cities and flood relief camps have been established to provide shelter, food, and medical care to displaced families.

Medical teams and staff are on-site to ensure proper treatment, and free medicines are being distributed to those in need. A temporary helipad has also been set up to facilitate emergency evacuations and rescue operations. Officials assured the chief minister that every effort is being made to provide timely assistance and protection to affected families.

Additional tent cities have been arranged in Kot Khaira and at the Government High School in Ahmedpur Sial. Special arrangements have been made for women and children, offering separate sections that ensure privacy, safety, and comfort.

The government emphasized that these measures are part of a broader strategy to safeguard residents during the ongoing flood situation. Relief operations are being closely monitored to ensure that no family is left without support.

The Punjab government reaffirmed its commitment to assisting people throughout this crisis, promising continuous aid until normal life is restored in the flood-hit areas.
