Pakistan’s military has made a strong pledge to stand by Saudi Arabia in every possible way. Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry declared that the country is ready to go to any extent to defend the Kingdom. He described Islamabad’s commitment to Riyadh’s security as completely unconditional.
Speaking in an interview the ISPR chief stated that Pakistan fully supports Saudi Arabia both diplomatically and physically. He emphasised that this support also covers the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Pakistani forces are already present there to protect the Haramain Sharifain and there should be no doubt about this resolve.
The remarks come at a time when Yemen’s Houthi militia has been launching attacks on Saudi cities. These incidents have raised fresh concerns about regional stability and global oil supplies. Saudi civil defence recently reported the first death from such attacks when debris from an intercepted drone killed a Yemeni resident in Taif. More than eighty people have been wounded in earlier strikes.
Lt Gen Chaudhry explained that the bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is deep-rooted emotional historical and unbreakable. This special relationship forms the foundation of the firm security commitment. He added that Pakistan will continue to defend the Kingdom against any form of aggression.
On the wider Middle East situation the military spokesperson said Islamabad is actively engaging with regional states. The goal is to achieve a negotiated and peaceful outcome to the ongoing conflict. Pakistan earlier played a key mediation role after coordinated attacks involving the United States Israel and Iran. Those events led to retaliatory actions the temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz and further escalation.
Months of talks facilitated by Pakistan resulted in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed in June. The ISPR chief called this document a consensus pathway that offers the only viable route out of the current crisis. Pakistan remains committed to supporting peace efforts while maintaining its clear and unconditional stance in defence of Saudi Arabia.
The strong statement from the military leadership highlights the close ties between the two nations and Islamabad’s readiness to contribute both diplomatically and on the ground whenever needed.
