A high-level meeting was held in Islamabad on August 21, 2025, between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, where both sides reaffirmed their unshakable alliance.

During the talks, the two leaders explored new avenues to enhance strategic cooperation and jointly safeguard peace in the region. Wang Yi emphasized that China stands firmly with Pakistan in protecting its sovereignty, security, and economic progress.

He applauded the Pakistan Army’s crucial role in implementing bilateral agreements and described the Pak–China relationship as “unshakable and rock-solid,” even amid global challenges and shifting dynamics.

Field Marshal Asim Munir assured that Pakistan is fully committed to the protection of Chinese projects and personnel working in the country. He reiterated Pakistan’s view of China as its “iron brother,” a phrase symbolizing the unparalleled depth of their bond.

The meeting concluded with the signing of fresh agreements covering security, economic, and developmental cooperation. These new commitments are set to elevate the partnership often described as “higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey.”

The discussions underscored that both nations remain resolute in standing by each other and in nurturing their all-weather strategic friendship.
