Pakistan’s security forces have eliminated three more terrorists during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, raising the total number of militants killed since the operation began on July 5 to 129, according to security sources.
The latest operation was carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and police, who targeted terrorist hideouts in remote and mountainous areas of the province. Security officials said the operation involved both ground troops and aerial support, enabling forces to strike militant positions effectively while maintaining pressure across multiple locations.
According to the sources, the operation is focused on dismantling terrorist networks operating in Balochistan. They added that Operation Shaban will continue until all terrorist elements are eliminated and peace is fully restored in the province.
A day earlier, security forces had also neutralised three terrorists during another successful operation. During the raids, forces recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition, including submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones, and other equipment believed to have been used in militant activities.
The intensified security campaign follows a series of deadly terrorist attacks in Balochistan earlier this month. According to ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, at least 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, lost their lives in three separate attacks across the province.
The ISPR chief previously stated that militants attacked the Mangi checkpoint, where police personnel put up strong resistance and reportedly killed 15 terrorists during the initial confrontation.
Pakistan has experienced a noticeable rise in terrorist incidents in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2021, prompting security forces to intensify counterterrorism operations. Officials maintain that sustained military action is essential to dismantle militant networks, improve security, and protect civilians from future attacks.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing Operation Shaban until the remaining terrorist infrastructure is dismantled and lasting peace is established across the region.
