Omani FM Visit to Pakistan begins today as Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi arrives for a two-day official trip. He is coming at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.

During his stay in Islamabad the visiting minister will take part in the 8th session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission. The two foreign ministers will co-chair the meeting. Officials say the session will review the full range of bilateral relations and look for new ways to expand cooperation.

The agenda covers many practical areas. Both sides plan to discuss trade, investment, industry, agriculture, finance, oil and gas, labour, consular services, security, defence, climate change, civil aviation, education, media and culture. The goal is to turn longstanding friendship into concrete results that benefit people in both countries.

Albusaidi is also expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a courtesy call. The Foreign Office noted that Pakistan and Oman share close, brotherly ties built on common history, faith and culture. This visit is seen as another step in strengthening those fraternal relations.

Officials in Islamabad describe the Joint Ministerial Commission as an important platform. It allows both governments to check progress on earlier agreements and set fresh targets. With the Omani foreign minister present, talks are expected to move quickly on practical issues such as business opportunities, energy projects and people-to-people links.

The arrival of the Omani FM underlines the steady warmth between the two nations. Pakistan values its relationship with Oman, and the current visit is designed to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual benefit. Further details on the outcomes of the meetings are likely to emerge once the session concludes.
