The 31-year-old officer sustained fatal injuries during a terrorist attack in Bannu on September 2, 2025, where he led his men from the front and saved his fellow soldiers by shielding them during the cowardly assault. Despite his wounds, he continued to fight with exemplary courage until he was shifted to CMH Rawalpindi, where he later embraced martyrdom.
The funeral was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, senior military and civil officers, and the family members of the Shaheed.

According to the ISPR, Major Adnan’s martyrdom is a powerful testimony of the Pakistan Army’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
