As excitement continues to build for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the LEGO Group has partnered with FIFA to create the world’s largest LEGO FIFA World Cup Trophy replica. The spectacular structure was officially unveiled at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, where football fans gathered to witness the impressive display and even helped place the final LEGO bricks.
Standing at an incredible 8.47 meters tall, the giant replica has earned recognition as the largest mobile LEGO structure ever built. Inspired by the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy, the masterpiece celebrates the global passion for football while highlighting LEGO’s creativity and engineering excellence.
Brazilian football legend Cafu attended the unveiling ceremony and praised the remarkable project. He described the trophy as one of the most recognizable symbols in sports and said seeing it recreated with LEGO bricks was truly extraordinary. Cafu also emphasized that football has always united people from different cultures and countries, making the installation a fitting tribute to the world’s most popular sport.
Creating the massive display required the efforts of 59 designers, engineers, and builders, who spent nearly 7,000 hours bringing the vision to life at LEGO’s production facility in the Czech Republic. Construction took approximately eight months, with the finished structure weighing more than 4.2 tonnes. Built using over 1.36 million LEGO bricks, the trophy is supported by a strong internal steel frame to ensure stability.
To transport the enormous model safely, the structure was divided into 16 separate sections before being shipped to New York, where it was carefully reassembled at Rockefeller Plaza.
From July 6 to July 19, visitors can enjoy the display free of charge as part of the new LEGO Fan Zone. The attraction also features interactive building stations, custom LEGO minifigure activities, and a collaborative brick mural for families and football fans of all ages.
The exhibition is also promoting LEGO’s latest football themed collection, featuring official LEGO Editions minifigures inspired by global stars including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior, making the event a memorable celebration ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
