A 10-year-old girl was found dead inside the bathroom of a private tuition centre in Lahore’s Ichhra area, prompting police to register a murder case and launch a detailed investigation into the tragic incident.
The case was filed on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Adnan, while investigators continue to collect evidence. Police officials said the post mortem and forensic reports will play a key role in determining the exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the case.
According to police, the young girl had left her home to attend her regular tuition classes at a nearby private academy, where she had reportedly been studying for nearly one and a half years. She was later found unconscious inside the tuition centre’s locked washroom.
Witnesses said teachers and family members became concerned after the child could not be located. With the help of local residents, they forced open the washroom door and found her lying unconscious. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Speaking to the media, SP Model Town confirmed that investigators have begun a comprehensive inquiry. He said the motive and circumstances behind the child’s death would only become clear after the completion of the forensic examination and post mortem report.
The victim’s father claimed he was initially informed that his daughter had fainted at the tuition centre. He questioned how the incident occurred and appealed to the Punjab government to ensure justice for his family. Police confirmed that marks were found on the child’s neck, and all possible angles are currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal sought a detailed report from the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO). Expressing sorrow over the incident, he directed authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation and assured that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found responsible.
The heartbreaking incident comes just weeks after another tragedy in Lahore, where multiple children lost their lives following the collapse of a tutoring centre roof, raising fresh concerns about the safety and security of educational institutions.
