Security forces eliminated three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Badrang area of Balochistan’s Awaran district on Thursday. According to security sources, the operation formed part of the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 campaign, a sustained effort to target militant networks and Indian proxies across the region.
Troops recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the slain militants. The successful Balochistan IBO comes just days after another similar action in Mastung, where forces killed at least three Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists, including a commander named Naqeeb. In that earlier raid, the militants’ vehicle was completely destroyed.
Pakistan has faced a noticeable rise in militant activity since 2021, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. These two provinces have remained the main centers of violence. A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies highlighted the scale of the problem during the second quarter of 2026. Together, KP and Balochistan accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related deaths recorded in that period.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered the heaviest losses, with more than 61 percent of the fatalities, totaling 475 deaths. Balochistan followed with 34 percent, or 265 deaths. KP also recorded the highest number of violent incidents at 151 cases, making up 57 percent of the national total. Balochistan registered 94 incidents, or 35 percent. These figures underline the concentrated nature of the threat in the two provinces.
Security officials continue to stress that intelligence-based operations remain a key tool in disrupting militant networks. The latest action in Awaran shows that forces are maintaining pressure on hideouts and supply lines. Weapons recovery during such raids further weakens the ability of groups to carry out future attacks.
As the Rad-ul-Fitna-3 campaign progresses, security forces remain focused on clearing remaining pockets of militant presence. Officials say the combination of precise intelligence and rapid response continues to yield results on the ground. The recovery of arms and the elimination of active fighters in successive operations signal steady progress against the ongoing threat in Balochistan and beyond.
