The FIFA World Cup trophy will make its journey to the New York New Jersey Stadium in a specially designed Louis Vuitton trunk, continuing a long standing partnership between the global football body and the renowned French luxury fashion house.
Created exclusively for football’s most prestigious prize, the custom made trunk features a striking golden “V”, symbolising both Victory and Vuitton. It also showcases the brand’s iconic monogram design, gold plated brass corner protectors, and a premium beige leather interior. Inside, a commemorative patch celebrates the ongoing collaboration between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
This marks the fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has designed the official trophy case. The luxury brand previously created bespoke trunks for the tournaments held in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022, reinforcing its connection with one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and the power of sport to unite people across the globe. He noted that the collaboration has continued successfully for more than a decade and represents the values both organisations strive to uphold.
Luxury brands have become increasingly involved in global sports by designing and protecting some of the world’s most valuable trophies. Tiffany & Co. has produced the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to Super Bowl champions since 1967, while Louis Vuitton also creates custom trophy trunks for Formula One under a long term agreement.
Unlike many other sporting competitions, the FIFA World Cup trophy is unique, with only one official version in existence. When not being presented to the tournament winners, it is kept at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, making the responsibility of designing and transporting its protective case a significant honour.
