China is facing a devastating natural disaster as severe storms, widespread flooding, and deadly landslides continue to impact several provinces. Rescue teams are working around the clock to locate missing people after extreme weather forced the evacuation of more than 130,000 residents and claimed dozens of lives across the country.

The southern region of Guangxi was among the hardest hit after Typhoon Maysak brought relentless rainfall that caused rivers to overflow, flooded towns, and burst a reservoir dam. Authorities confirmed that six people lost their lives in Guangxi, while floodwaters damaged nearly 13,000 acres of farmland, creating significant losses for local communities.

Emergency crews used inflatable boats to rescue stranded residents as powerful currents swept through residential areas. The Chinese government has deployed additional emergency supplies, including food, raincoats, life saving equipment, and rubber boats, to support ongoing relief efforts. Officials have also maintained the second highest flood emergency response level, warning that more heavy rainfall is expected in Guangxi and neighboring Guangdong Province.

In central Hubei Province, powerful thunderstorms, strong winds, and tornadoes left 11 people dead and injured more than 330 others. Thousands of homes suffered extensive damage, with several buildings collapsing due to the severe weather. Rescue workers continue searching for a missing resident while emergency teams assess the destruction.

Meanwhile, northwestern Gansu Province experienced another tragedy after a massive landslide buried a village. Authorities confirmed that the death toll has risen to 21, while investigators continue examining the cause of the disaster. The Chinese government has allocated 30 million yuan to help rebuild affected communities and support recovery efforts.

President Xi Jinping has urged rescue teams to spare no effort in saving lives and assisting affected residents. With meteorologists predicting continued heavy rainfall, officials remain on high alert as they work to prevent further casualties and protect vulnerable communities from additional flooding and landslides.
