The English Department of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) is set to organize a grand alumni reunion on July 7, welcoming former students from across Pakistan and overseas for a memorable day of reconnecting, networking, and celebrating their lifelong bond with the university.
The event will take place at the Jinnah Auditorium and marks the department’s first alumni reunion in six years. A large gathering of graduates from different academic sessions is expected to participate, making the occasion a significant milestone for the department.
The reunion is being arranged under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Sanobra Rizwan, with the support of faculty members including Ms. Fariha Munir, Dr. Sadia, and other members of the department. The primary objective of the event is to strengthen the relationship between the university and its graduates while creating opportunities for former students to reconnect with classmates, teachers, and mentors.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zubair Iqbal, who is also an alumnus of BZU, will attend the event as the chief guest. Speaking about the reunion, Dr. Sanobra Rizwan said the gathering represents much more than a simple homecoming. She explained that it is a chance to celebrate shared memories, renew old friendships, and recognize the role the university has played in shaping the personal and professional lives of its graduates. She also highlighted that a strong alumni network can contribute to student mentoring, research collaboration, career guidance, and the overall development of the university.
The event will feature interactive sessions, networking opportunities, cultural performances, and discussions reflecting on the remarkable journey of both the department and the university. Alumni will also be invited to visit the department and explore the academic and infrastructure improvements introduced over recent years.
According to the organizers, graduates from various cities are expected to attend the reunion. They believe the gathering will not only revive cherished memories but also encourage long term engagement between alumni and the university. Ms. Fariha Munir noted that the department’s first alumni reunion was held in 1994 under the guidance of the late Dr. Zafar Iqbal, followed by several successful reunions over the years.
