On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan has once again criticized India for failing to provide credible evidence regarding its accusations. In a televised statement, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar questioned India’s baseless claims and accused the country of avoiding calls for an independent investigation into the incident, which Pakistan believes was a “false flag operation.”

The attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), in April 2025, resulted in the deaths of 26 people. India had quickly blamed Pakistan without offering any substantial evidence. In response, Pakistan rejected the charges and requested an impartial investigation. India’s subsequent missile strikes inside Pakistan led to retaliatory actions, including the downing of several Indian fighter jets by Pakistan.

Minister Tarar emphasized that India’s approach to the incident reflects a pattern of false flag operations, aimed at deflecting internal issues and creating a war-like atmosphere. He pointed out that despite the passage of a year, India has failed to provide a satisfactory explanation or credible evidence regarding the attack.

The minister further criticized India’s handling of the situation, including the unusually fast registration of a First Information Report (FIR) just 10 minutes after the incident, suggesting prior preparation. He also referred to concerns raised by international media, Indian civil society, and politicians about the legitimacy of India’s claims.

Additionally, Tarar highlighted India’s treatment of minorities, especially Muslims, under the Hindutva ideology, and its involvement in terrorist activities globally. He pointed to Pakistan’s evidence of India’s support for groups like the BLA and TTP as part of efforts to destabilize Pakistan. The minister emphasized that Pakistan remains united in its efforts to combat terrorism and will take all necessary steps to protect its sovereignty.

Tarar concluded by reiterating that any further aggression from India would be met with a strong and decisive response, stressing that Pakistan has achieved a decisive victory over India in the “Marka-e-Haq” military campaign.
