The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is preparing to launch a digital degree attestation system that will transform how students verify their academic credentials in Pakistan. This new initiative is built on blockchain technology, aiming to make the process more secure, transparent, and efficient for applicants across the country and abroad.

According to officials, the upcoming platform will allow students and graduates to submit attestation requests online, track their applications in real time, and receive verified credentials without visiting HEC offices. This shift is expected to eliminate the need for physical documents and long queues, making the entire process more user friendly and time saving.

To bring this project to life, the HEC has partnered with CMPak and its joint venture partner Wibbow Technologies. Together, they will develop a robust system designed to handle large volumes of applications while ensuring data security and authenticity through blockchain integration. The platform is expected to become operational by June 30, 2026.

This move comes after concerns raised earlier by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Government Assurances, which highlighted delays and financial burdens in the traditional attestation process. The committee emphasized the need to reduce turnaround time and improve efficiency for students.

In response, the HEC chairman assured that the new system would address these challenges by offering a faster and more reliable solution. Initially, the platform will be connected with 25 universities and the Attestation Directorate of the Foreign Office, ensuring seamless coordination between institutions.

For students, especially those living in remote areas or applying from overseas, this initiative will bring significant relief. The introduction of a digital attestation system reflects Pakistan’s broader push toward digital transformation in education, making services more accessible and convenient for everyone.
