Tragic Industrial Fire in Haripur Claims Eight Lives from One Family
A devastating incident at the Hattar Industrial Estate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has resulted in the tragic deaths of eight family members. According to Haripur District Police Officer (DPO) Shafiullah Gandapur, the deadly blaze was triggered by a gas pipeline burst within the industrial zone on Thursday. The explosion quickly escalated into a massive fire, trapping those nearby and leading to a significant loss of life.
The scale of the emergency required a massive coordinated effort, with fire brigade units from five different districts arriving to assist. Alongside local police and specialized rescue services, these teams worked tirelessly to contain the inferno and prevent it from spreading to adjacent industrial units. Despite their rapid response, the intensity of the fire caused fatal injuries to eight individuals, while five others remain in critical condition.
Authorities have confirmed that all the victims belonged to the same family, turning this industrial accident into a profound personal tragedy. Emergency teams moved quickly to transport the victims; five bodies were moved to the Kot Najibullah hospital, while the remaining three deceased and the five injured survivors were rushed to the local trauma centre for urgent medical attention.
The Haripur DPO stated that the joint firefighting and rescue operation was essential in finally bringing the situation under control. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the pipeline failure and to ensure safety protocols at the Hattar Industrial Estate are strictly enforced to prevent such a catastrophe from recurring. The local community remains in mourning as they grapple with the sudden loss of so many members of a single household in this horrific industrial accident.
