Residents of Karachi experienced a pleasant yet cautious start to the day as light drizzle was reported in several areas, signaling a shift in the city’s weather. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected to continue throughout the day.
Early morning showers were observed in areas like Jinnah Avenue and Gulshan e Maymar, while most parts of the city remained under partly cloudy skies. Weather experts confirmed that rain bearing clouds are forming over the northwestern areas of Karachi, increasing the chances of further rainfall within the next 24 hours.
The temperature in the city remained moderate, with the minimum recorded at 23.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the humidity level stood at 76 percent, adding to the moist and cloudy conditions across the metropolis.
Authorities have advised residents to stay alert, especially during thunderstorm activity, as rain can reduce visibility and create hazardous driving conditions. Commuters are urged to take precautions while traveling on roads that may become slippery or waterlogged.
The recent drizzle comes as part of a broader weather system affecting multiple regions of Pakistan, driven by a fresh western disturbance. Several districts in Sindh are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and even isolated hailstorms, including Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Karachi.
It is worth noting that just last week, heavy rainfall in Karachi caused severe disruptions, including urban flooding and traffic congestion. Sadly, multiple casualties were reported, with electrocution incidents and structural collapses among the main causes.
With more rain expected in the coming days, residents are encouraged to remain cautious and follow official weather updates to stay safe during this changing Karachi weather pattern.
