Mohamed Salah, widely regarded as one of Liverpool’s greatest players, has confirmed that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season. The Egyptian forward, who has been the heartbeat of Liverpool’s modern success, shared the news in an emotional video message to fans, expressing gratitude for the club, the city, and its people.

Since joining from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has transformed Liverpool’s fortunes, guiding them to two Premier League titles, a Champions League crown, and several other major trophies including the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and League Cups. His consistency and brilliance made him a symbol of Liverpool’s attacking power.

With 255 goals in 435 appearances, Salah stands as the club’s third-highest goalscorer, trailing only legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. His achievements include winning the Premier League Golden Boot four times, and in the 2024/25 season, he delivered one of the finest campaigns in league history, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists. That year, he became the first player to win the Golden Boot, Playmaker Award, and Player of the Season in a single campaign.

However, the current season has been more challenging. Salah struggled for form, endured long spells without scoring, and was even benched for key matches. Tensions with manager Arne Slot further complicated matters, with Salah publicly voicing frustration in December. Despite speculation about a move to Saudi Arabia, he recently reminded fans of his brilliance with a stunning goal against Galatasaray, marking his 50th strike in the Champions League.

Beloved as the “Egyptian King”, Salah’s legacy is etched into Liverpool’s history and the hearts of supporters. Murals across Anfield celebrate his iconic goal celebrations, and his farewell message captured the emotion of his departure: “You gave me the best time of my life. This club will always be my home. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”
