The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced spring break holidays for Islamabad schools, giving students and teachers a short pause from academic activities later this month. According to an official notification, educational institutions in Islamabad operating under the FDE will observe a four day spring break from March 24 to March 27, 2026.
The decision applies to all schools and colleges in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad that fall under the administration of the Federal Directorate of Education. The break will allow students and staff to take a short rest during the spring season before academic activities resume.
The notification clearly stated that spring break will begin on March 24 and continue until March 27. During this time, students will not attend classes. However, the admission process for new students will continue without interruption, ensuring that administrative work related to admissions remains active.
Authorities emphasized that while students will be enjoying their break, certain responsibilities will still be handled by school management. The teaching staff will be required to return to institutions on March 30, which is the official reopening day after the holidays. Their attendance on that day will be mandatory.
The purpose of this requirement is to make sure that annual examination results are compiled and announced properly. Teachers and administrative staff will use the reopening day to finalize records, review examination outcomes, and prepare results for students.
The announcement has brought relief to many students who were waiting for a short break after a busy academic schedule. Spring holidays often provide students with an opportunity to relax, spend time with family, and prepare mentally for the next academic phase.
The notification regarding the Islamabad school holidays was issued by the Academics Wing of the Federal Directorate of Education after receiving approval from the Director General of FDE. Once the spring break concludes, regular academic activities will resume from March 30 across all concerned institutions in the capital.
