Oman has introduced a new cultural visa aimed at attracting skilled individuals from around the world who work in arts, heritage, literature, and other creative fields. This initiative is designed to make it easier for international professionals to visit Oman, participate in cultural activities, and contribute to the country’s rapidly growing creative sector.
The visa provides a simple and clear application process for foreigners interested in joining cultural programs, attending artistic events, or collaborating with Omani institutions. Applicants can stay in the country for a limited period while taking part in approved cultural work. Each application must be requested by an Omani host organization, which could include cultural ministries, universities, art centers, training institutes, or research bodies.
Through this facility, visitors can engage in cultural workshops, creative training, artistic research, literary exchanges, and heritage-based programs. It also supports those attending exhibitions, book fairs, conferences, and cultural festivals across the country. Close family members, including spouses, children, and parents, can apply for a special joining visa to accompany the main applicant.
The fee structure is flexible, allowing individuals to choose a duration that suits their needs. A one-year cultural visa costs 50 Omani Riyals, while long-term options of five or ten years are also available at 50 Omani Riyals per year.
Authorities believe this cultural visa will strengthen knowledge-sharing, support creative growth, and enhance Oman’s position as an inviting hub for cultural tourism and international collaboration.
