The KPK government has taken a significant step to support communities affected by the recent floods by approving Rs. 1 billion for flood relief and rehabilitation efforts across the province.
According to an official notification from the provincial finance department, the decision was approved by the provincial cabinet on August 20, 2025, following a thorough review of the destruction caused by the floods. The funds will be provided as a supplementary grant and transferred directly to the Director Relief at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The allocated funds will be used for emergency assistance to affected families, including food, clean water, shelter, and medical care, while long-term rehabilitation will focus on repairing damaged infrastructure, such as roads, schools, and health facilities.
Authorities emphasized that this allocation is part of a broader government plan to ensure that flood victims receive timely and adequate support. The PDMA has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the fund distribution to ensure transparency and effective utilization of the funds.
Officials also highlighted that frequent natural disasters have become a challenge for the province in recent years, making it crucial to strengthen disaster management and prevention systems.
By releasing such a large sum, the KPK government has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting vulnerable communities and supporting them as they work towards rebuilding their lives.
This announcement has been positively received by citizens and relief organizations, who see it as a key move towards recovery and resilience.
