Sindh has introduced the Worker Welfare Card Sindh (WWCS), a pioneering, paperless initiative aimed at empowering around 3.4 million industrial workers across the province. Launched by the Workers Welfare Board Sindh (WWBS), the WWCS is not just an identification tool, but a system that provides verified and immediate access to various benefits, including death grants, scholarships, marriage assistance, and more. This eliminates the need for paperwork, office visits, and middlemen.
Shahid Abdul Salam Thahim, Sindh’s Minister for Labour and Human Resources, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “This card ensures the delivery of rights directly to the workers digitally, removing any intermediary processes.”
Workers can register for the WWCS through the official WWBS portal, where their CNIC-linked profile will grant them access to a range of services. The system connects to real-time data from NADRA, EOBI, and employer records, confirming eligibility instantly and eliminating paperwork and delays. This digital platform ensures transparency and safeguards against fraud, as there’s no need for a physical card—everything is confirmed online.
In partnership with Sindh Insurance Limited, the scheme also includes automatic free accidental coverage for all registered workers, offering cashless hospitalization up to PKR 700,000 annually. Workers can access treatment at more than 250 hospitals across Sindh, with 24/7 accident protection, whether on or off duty. The digital profile ensures instant verification of eligibility for the coverage.
WWCS is part of a larger digital transformation by WWBS, which includes features like automated death grant validation, tamper-proof claims processing, geo-tagged benefit monitoring, and live dashboards for real-time oversight. These efforts guarantee full transparency, accountability, and zero manipulation.
To register, workers can visit the WWBS portal, submit their CNIC, employer details, and industry information, and verify their eligibility instantly. Once verified, workers can activate their digital profile and begin receiving benefits. Please note that the program is available only to registered industrial workers; family members and dependents are not covered under the scheme.
With WWCS, Sindh is setting a new standard for providing rights directly to workers through a fully digital system—no paperwork, no waiting in lines, and no intermediaries.
