Security forces carried out a successful intelligence based operation in the Zarkani area of Dera Ismail Khan on October 24. According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the action was launched after credible reports confirmed the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij.
During the intense exchange of fire, the troops eliminated six terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants. These terrorists had been actively involved in multiple attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians.
Unfortunately the fierce gun battle also claimed the lives of two brave soldiers. Naik Ghulam Murtaza, 36, a resident of Gujrat district, and Sepoy Taseer Ahmed, 30, from Talagang district, fought gallantly and embraced shahadat. Their ultimate sacrifice once again highlights the heavy price our forces pay to protect the nation.
ISPR stated that the operation was conducted with meticulous planning. A sanitisation drive is currently underway in the area to ensure no remaining terrorists are left behind. The military media wing reaffirmed that the comprehensive counter terrorism campaign under the Azm e Istehkam vision will continue at full pace. This campaign, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aims to completely eliminate foreign sponsored terrorism from Pakistani soil.
The statement further noted that such sacrifices of our soldiers only strengthen the resolve of the entire nation. Security forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the country at every cost. The successful elimination of these six terrorists marks another important step in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the region. Local residents and security officials have expressed relief after the operation, hoping it will bring greater peace and stability to Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas.
