Security forces have successfully eliminated 11 India-backed terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on Saturday, according to security sources.

The first operation took place in South Waziristan, KP, where forces targeted hideouts belonging to the group known as Fitna al-Khawarij. During the raid, five militants were killed and their hideouts were completely destroyed. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site, security sources confirmed.

In a separate action under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, security forces engaged Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists in the Gorindar-Mashkel area of Balochistan. Militants opened fire on a checkpost in the region and then tried to escape. Forces responded quickly and killed six militants who were attempting to flee the area.

These operations come amid a sharp rise in cross-border terrorist activity across Pakistan, especially in KP and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. September 2026 recorded the highest monthly number of militant attacks in 12 years. Data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies shows 225 militant attacks took place that month, up 13 percent from 199 attacks in August. This marked the third consecutive month of rising violence.

Islamabad has repeatedly called on Kabul to stop militant groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan. Pakistani officials maintain that the Afghan Taliban authorities have not taken effective steps against the organisations responsible for targeting security personnel and civilians. Kabul has disputed these claims.

Despite several rounds of talks, the two sides have not resolved their differences. The presence of militant groups operating from Afghan soil continues to remain a major point of disagreement between Islamabad and Kabul. Security sources emphasised that operations against these India-backed networks will continue to protect the country’s borders and people.
