Abrar Ahmed Climbs to No. 2 in ICC T20I Bowling Rankings

Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has achieved another major milestone by moving up to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings. The talented leg spinner overtook India’s Varun Chakaravarthy after gaining one position in the updated rankings, further strengthening his reputation as one of the world’s leading T20 bowlers.

Abrar now has 736 rating points, placing him just behind Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who continues to lead the rankings with 753 points. The improvement reflects Abrar’s consistent performances in recent international matches and highlights his growing importance to Pakistan’s T20 setup.

Several other Pakistan bowlers also maintained their positions in the latest ICC rankings. Mohammad Nawaz remained in 12th place, while Salman Mirza retained 20th position. Experienced fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi also held onto 30th place with 602 rating points. Meanwhile, Usman Tariq stayed at 60th, while Sufiyan Muqeem, Saim Ayub, and Shadab Khan remained unchanged at 68th, 71st, and 73rd respectively. Fast bowler Haris Rauf kept his 89th position, while Abbas Afridi climbed one place to 100th.

In the ICC T20I batting rankings, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan successfully retained his third position with 848 rating points, continuing his impressive run of form. India’s Ishan Kishan returned to the top of the batting rankings after replacing teammate Abhishek Sharma, who slipped to second place. Among other Pakistani batters, Saim Ayub remained 40th, Babar Azam held 42nd, Salman Ali Agha stayed 44th, while Fakhar Zaman moved up to 72nd.

The ICC T20I all rounder rankings also featured strong Pakistani representation. Saim Ayub retained third place, while Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continued to lead the rankings ahead of Hardik Pandya. Mohammad Nawaz slipped to 10th, Shadab Khan remained 23rd, and both Faheem Ashraf and Salman Ali Agha improved by one position. These latest rankings underline Pakistan’s growing strength across all departments in T20 international cricket.
