Pakistan’s security forces successfully carried out an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, resulting in the elimination of 14 militants linked to the banned group referred to by authorities as Fitna al Hindustan. The operation was conducted in the Naal area after intelligence agencies received information regarding the presence of militants planning attacks on public institutions.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on June 8 after credible reports suggested that the militants were preparing to target a nearby police station and several banks. Security forces acted swiftly to prevent the planned attacks and launched a coordinated operation against the suspected hideout.
During the operation, troops effectively tracked and engaged the militants, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. Following an intense battle, 14 militants were killed, while several others sustained injuries. Security officials stated that the operation significantly disrupted the activities of the militant network operating in the region.
The military further revealed that four vehicles being used by the militants were destroyed during the operation. In addition, a number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered and neutralized on the spot, preventing potential future attacks.
While the operation achieved its objective, the armed forces also suffered a loss. Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas embraced martyrdom after fighting bravely during the exchange of fire. His sacrifice was acknowledged as a symbol of dedication and courage in the fight against terrorism.
Authorities confirmed that sanitisation operations remain underway in the area to ensure that any remaining militants are located and neutralized. Security forces continue to maintain a strong presence in the region to prevent terrorist elements from regrouping.
