Iran has revealed new details about its latest peace proposal to the United States, demanding sanctions relief, compensation for war related destruction, and the withdrawal of US troops from areas near Iranian borders. The proposal comes as fragile ceasefire efforts continue following months of heightened military tensions involving Iran, the US, and Israel.

According to Iranian officials, the proposal includes an end to hostilities across multiple fronts, including regional conflicts connected to Lebanon. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that Tehran is also seeking the release of frozen Iranian funds held abroad and an end to restrictions affecting the country’s maritime activities.

The announcement comes shortly after US President Donald Trump indicated there was a strong possibility of reaching an agreement over Iran’s nuclear programme. Trump said planned military action had been paused after receiving a new peace proposal from Tehran, raising hopes for diplomatic progress in the region.

Reports suggest that Washington may have shown some flexibility regarding Iran’s frozen assets and peaceful nuclear activities monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency. However, disagreements remain over sanctions and broader security demands.

The proposed agreement is considered important for reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route for oil and energy supplies. Continued instability in the area has raised concerns about global energy markets and regional security.

Regional countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have reportedly encouraged diplomatic solutions and urged restraint to avoid further escalation.

Pakistan has also reportedly played a diplomatic role by helping communicate messages between Tehran and Washington during recent negotiations. Analysts believe that while major differences still exist, ongoing discussions may help reduce tensions and create opportunities for future peace talks.
